QUOTE (General Kenobi @ May 25, 2008 02:11 pm)
Does each time you move mean per space moved, or each time you move.  Example: I move my Dooku 3 spaces, who has a poison marker.  I take 3 damage or 1.

Good point. I meant only 1 point for any amount of movement. The word each is not helping here;

X3 POISON Place a poison marker on 1 adjacent enemy’s hit card. That enemy takes 1 damage now and 1 damage EACH time the character moves at the start of their turn.

I need to change it to maybe this;

X3 POISON Place a poison marker on 1 adjacent character’s hit card. That character takes 1 damage. At the start of every subsequent turn that character will take 1 more damage point (1 poinit max per turn) if that character moves when their die is rolled.

QUOTE
Even with Antidote required to be played when it's drawn, there is always the minor character to select from which to remove (zero) poison markers.

QUOTE
What happens if Posion Ivy draws both Antidote cards early on in the game before she draws any Poison cards? She'd immediately play the Antidote cards before any characters have been poisoned, and any characters that she poisons after that would have no hope of getting cured, since they'd mostly likely be killed before the discard pile gets reshuffled.

QUOTE
Does each time you move mean per space moved, or each time you move?

Thanks to these 3 questions the quirks have been removed. Imput was needed. I have put the new POISON text in place. I also changed ANTIDOTE. I hope this is it, version 1.4...

Version 1.4 Poison Ivy & 2 Plant Monsters
Poison Ivy (13 HP) Yellow+ Shooter
2 Plant Monsters (3 HP Each) Shared Melee Minor Deck

X3 POISON Place a poison marker on 1 adjacent character’s hit card. That
character takes 1 damage. At the start of every subsequent turn that character will
take 1 more damage point (1 point max per turn for moving) if that character
moves when their die is rolled.

X3 TRANSPLANT Ivy and any one Plant Monster trade places. Playing this
card does not count as an action.

X2 CROSSBOW A3; Add 2 to the attack value of this card for each
poison marker on the target.

X2 PLANT FOOD Each Plant Monster does 2 damage to each enemy
character they are in position to attack. Draw a card for each Plant Monster in play.

X2 ANTIDOTE Play this card immediately when drawn (not an action, even if you are out of actions).
If there is one or no Plant Monsters on the board then return one to the board
adjacent to Ivy. Now remove all poison markers from one chosen enemy major
character (or a minor if no majors are poisoned).
If two Plant Monsters are on the board then recycle this card into your draw pile.

NOTES
ANTIDOTE- now forces you to kill a plant monster to reap its benefits. Like in the episode though, instead of the plant getting killed, you blackmail her into giving the antidote by sparing the plant's life. This is symbolized by returning the plant to the board and removing the poison markers from the character's hit card.

Ivy cannot get rid of ANTIDOTE easily. If no Plant Monsters have been killed the card gets shuffled back into her draw pile.

POISON- Multiple poison markers do no extra damage other than the initial 1 damage. That was a bit fuzzy earlier but now it is clear with the 1 max stipulation for movement. However, they do boost CROSSBOW.

Posioned characters get 1 damage up front now but can avoid exta damage if they do not move on their turn. If they do move they take only 1 extra hit regardless of how many spaces they move.

GENERAL TACTICS
Ivy will basically run and hide from you, playing POISON if you get too close & using TRANSPLANT to get away from you. Her game is the direct damage from POISON, which should whittle away your HP. PLANT FOOD also deals direct damage. Her Plant Monsters will act as fodder/shields but will soon return when killed after ANTIDOTE is played. WRIST CROSSBOW may not look like much but when played on a major character who has been poisoned, the result could be a show stopper.

I hope these changes make the deck more workable. Some of the cards are a bit wordy, but that includes the self-describing "special rules" on the cards. I do not particularly like special rules which are added outside of the card effects. I guess I paid for this in ink, but I hope the deck will be fun to play.

Poison Ivy is ready to print at my Batman Epic Duels site.
I do not send out emails to members unless it is to say hi to someone completely new or if it is a very important note. You will not be pestered if you have (or do) join. It is more or a storage depot for my files than anything else. So stop by and check out my JPEGs of Ivy and others here;

I personally think 3 Hp + Melee Minors = Bad Idea.

You may be right. Her plant monsters are strong but easy to kill in the animated series because they are plants (rather prolific, huh?). I gave then low HP because with her 2 ANTIDOTE cards to remove POISON markers there must be a destroyed Plant Monster. I guess I want to give her opponents a chance to get rid of the deadly POISON. However, one Plant Monster returns to the board each time ANTIDOTE is activiated. I did not want 4 HP because (I think) they would might be too hard to kill.

I'll see how the deck plays first before I make any changes. Thanks for your imput.

I will be redesigning Poison Ivy. Her current poison attack is ridiculously complicated along witht he antidote to the poison card.

I really like the way that I was able to recreate her basic cards though. I now have the ability to get DVD captures from my BTAS DVD set. I used Adobe Photoshop to edit and add the crossbow bolt from another image to the existing image of IVY taking a shot. I made multiple images of the bolt, adding more fading back to the point of conception. It makes for a nice basic card. I even included a little overlapping by the bolt over the color frame border for the attack and defend numbers. Open the Ivy Basic 2 cards;

X3 POISON Place a poison marker on 1 adjacent character’s hit card. That character takes 1 damage. At the start of every subsequent turn that character will take 1 more damage point (1 poinit max per turn) if that character moves when their die is rolled.

How About

Poison
Choose an adjacent character. That character receives 1 damage and then place a poison counter on the characters picture of his hit track. For every poison marker on his picture he takes 1 damage every after he moves due to rolling the movement die.

X2 ANTIDOTE
Playing this card does not count as an action.Play this card immediately whenever drawn or as the first card you play on your turn.
If both plant monsters are not on the board then return 1 to the board adjacent to Ivy. Then choose an opponent with poison markers, the opponents removes all poison markers from one his characters picture.
If both plant monsters are on the board then shuffle this card into your draw pile.

This way the opponent gets to choose which character gets cured.

Thanks for the imput, Embal. I can see why you are trying to redesign these cards, for they are the heart of the problem of what is wrong with Ivy. I am going to simplify her deck signigicantly.

Version 2.0 Poison Ivy & 2 Plant Monsters
Poison Ivy (13 HP) Yellow Shooter
2 Plant Monsters (4 HP Each) Shared Melee Minor Deck

X3 PRETTY POISON
Choose any adjacent enemy character. That character receives 3 damage. The player controlling this character must discard a card at random.

X3 TRANSPLANT
Exchange spaces between Ivy and any Plant Monster. Playing this card does not count as an action.

X2 PLANT FOOD
Each Plant Monster does 2 damage to each enemy character they are in position to attack. Draw a card for each Plant Monster in play.

X2 WRIST CROSSBOW A7*;
*If you do not destroy the defending character with this card, destroy a Plant Monster.

X2 GROWTH
Restore all Plant Monsters to full health. Return all destroyed Plant Monsters to any open space on the board.

NOTES

GENERAL TACTICS
Ivy will basically run and hide from you, playing PRETTY POISON if you get
too close & using TRANSPLANT to get away from you. Her game is the
direct damage from PRETTY POISON, which should whittle away your HP. PLANT
FOOD also deals direct damage. Her Plant Monsters will act as
fodder/shields but will soon return when killed after GROWTH is
played. WRIST CROSSBOW may look like a penalized card, but when played prior to GROWTH, it allows Ivy to reposition a Plant Monster.

COMBOS
1.PRETTY POISON (3 direct damage)
2.TRANSPLANT (swap with Plant Monster; no action)
3. PLANT FOOD (2 direct damage from Plant Monster)
The above combo allows for 5 direct damage against an enemy in one turn, causes a discard, and hopefully moves Ivy out of harms way.

1. GROWTH (place a Plant Monster in a crowded space)
2. PLANT FOOD (do 2 direct damage to all adjacents)

1. WRIST CROSSBOW (A7, wax a Plant Monster)
2. GROWTH (Return the Plant Monster anywhere)

This new version of Poison Ivy is ready to print. I made her artwork much brighter as well. Look for the Poison Ivy folder on the following linked page-
